HONESDALE – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) welcomed dozens of area veterans; Jeff Saunders, a service officer with the American Legion; and Frank Muggeo, director of Wayne County Veterans Affairs, to his Honesdale district office on Friday, Feb. 24, to mark the first occasion of veterans assistance hours offered by the American Legion.
Fritz will be offering veterans assistance hours on the fourth Friday of each in his Honesdale district office, located at
32 Commercial St., Suite 300 in Honesdale.
Saunders will be available to provide area veterans and their dependents with information regarding compensation, pension and death benefits, education and health care, and more. Veterans need not be a member of the American Legion to use this service.
“It was my pleasure to hear from many of our local veterans about the challenges they face and the services they need,” said Fritz. “All veterans residing in the 111th District, and their families, are welcome to stop by my district offices to see how we can help them and provide information about available services.”
Veterans from Honesdale American Legion Post 254, Pleasant Mount American Legion Post 964 and Lakewood American Legion Post 209 spoke with Fritz, Saunders and Muggeo about issues facing area veterans and their families.
