Fritz Offers Comments on Governor’s Budget Proposal

HARRISBURG – As the governor spoke before the House and Senate elaborating on his ideas for this year’s state budget, Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne), member of the House Appropriations Committee, shared his perspective on the governor's proposed budget.



“Fortunately, we continue to see a robust and growing economy both nationally and statewide, and with that Pennsylvania benefits from the increased revenue. When it comes to our state budget our focus must be on being responsible and accountable for the taxpayer money being allocated for this budget.

“This includes paying down our debt, placing money in the Rainy Day savings account to ensure we have resources available when down times set in, and furthering our investment in infrastructure and small businesses while also supplying funding for our mandated obligations.

“As I've always asserted, we need to be responsible and accountable for the funds we spend, which is why I will strongly oppose any ‘tax-and-spend’ initiatives or wasteful spending proposals made today. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues in the House and Senate to ensure that all Pennsylvanians benefit from a conscientious budget."
