Susquehanna and Wayne Counties Fire and Ambulance Companies to See Over $580,000 in State Grants, Says Fritz

January 24, 2020

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) announced that fire and ambulance companies in Susquehanna and Wayne County will see a total of $586,882 in fire and safety grants given by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC).

From these grants, Wayne County emergency response organizations will receive $286,947.15 and Susquehanna County companies will receive $299,934.56.

“Our local firefighters and EMS workers have always put our community needs above their own and ensure that they do all in their power to serve and protect us and our families,” said Fritz. “These funds make it possible for their respective stations and companies to address their own needs, make improvements to increase safety and efficiency, and update all staff on essential training.”

The OSFC manages financial assistance programs for the state’s fire, ambulance and rescue organizations intended to help them improve and enhance their capabilities to provide firefighting, ambulance and rescue services.
