Fritz to Serve as Deputy Whip, Regional Delegation Chairman for 2025-26 Session
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) has been appointed to serve as a deputy whip in the 2025-26 Legislative Session, which began Dec. 1, by House Republican Whip Tim O’Neal (R-Washington).
“I am honored to be chosen to serve, for a third time, as a House deputy whip.” Fritz said. "Policy and legislation, at times, moves at a very accelerated pace and there's often abrupt developments. Dissemination of information to colleagues is critical. This is an important role, and I embrace the responsibility that comes with the assignment."
In an additional development, Fritz will also lead fellow Republican members as chairman for the Northeast Regional Delegation.
"Harrisburg is a place that requires collaboration, and I am thankful that my delegation-mates entrust me to lead as their chairman," Fritz continued. "When you work together, deliberate together and operate as a bloc, you are able to use that leverage for the good of the region. When my legislative neighbor gets a win, we all enjoy the benefits of that progress or gain. Pennsylvania is a large and diverse Commonwealth with plenty of areas with needs. My focus is making sure that the Northeast and the Northern Tier get their fair share of attention and resources."
The Northeast Regional Delegation represents all or parts of the following counties: Bradford, Columbia, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne and Wyoming.
