$500,000 PAsmart Advancing Grant Awarded to Northeastern Educational IU 19, Says Fritz

February 14, 2019

HONESDALE – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) announced this week that Northeastern Educational IU 19 received $500,000 in funding for science, technology, engineering, mathematics and computer science expansion.

“I want to congratulate Northeastern Educational IU 19 on receiving this much-needed grant,” said Fritz. “This institution serves numerous students throughout Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties. The funding they received is crucial as it will help them improve and fortify their CS and STEM curriculums to continue providing our children with the best education possible.”

PAsmart advancing grants give regions a chance to leverage or expand CS and STEM ecosystems, develop better CS and STEM experiences to historically underserved populations, and strengthen the pool of CS and STEM educators.
